That's right. We're pathetic

This came to my attention a while ago, but I've been really busy up to this point.

The Packers offered Favre 20 million dollars to stay retired.

Yes, that's correct. In this country, not only do our working athletes get paid millions, and millions of dollars to play, they also now get paid for doing absolutely nothing.

And that ladies and gentleman is the American Dream.

Please understand that I have nothing against sports, and especially nothing against football. If the quarterback is on top of his game, I'd give him anything he wanted. But so much money, to not even pick up a football?

I feel rather sick. Mostly at the fact that people don't seem to care. When I voice my outrage on this subject, people shrug their shoulders and continue to talk about Aaron Rodger's chances at starting. I want to stop them, shake them, and yell in their faces, "Don't you realize what we've come to? We're paying someone millions of dollars to do nothing. Nothing."

Brett Farve obviously turned down the money, and will be back to play. Whether he'll be at the Packers is, of course, not sure at this point.

But let's not focus on that, let's focus on the fact that we are pathetic.
Truly, sickeningly pathetic.
